Cool Laser – Frequently Asked Questions

The Dermablate Cool laser is the highest-performing Er:YAG laser for high-precision skin ablation and fractional therapy, meaning it can be used for a wide variety of medical & cosmetic treatments. It is used for a variety of skin treatments, including scar removal and skin rejuvenation, as well as ENT therapy, surgery and gynaecology.

Most patients experience only mild side effects from Dermablate Cool laser treatments, such as redness, swelling, and mild discomfort. These side effects usually resolve within a few hours to a few days. In rare cases, more serious side effects such as blistering or scarring may occur, but these are very rare and can usually be prevented by following proper aftercare instructions.

Most patients report only mild discomfort during Dermablate Cool laser treatments. The laser’s advanced cooling technology minimises damage to surrounding tissue, resulting in faster recovery times and fewer side effects. However, patients may experience some discomfort during the treatment, which can be managed with topical numbing cream or other pain management techniques.

The number of Dermablate Cool laser treatments needed to achieve desired results will depend on the specific treatment being performed and the patient’s individual needs and goals. For scar removal, it may take several treatments spaced several weeks apart to achieve full removal, while for skin rejuvenation, patients may see results after just one treatment.

After a Dermablate Cool laser treatment, it is recommended to avoid direct sunlight and use sunscreen for a few days. Patients should also avoid strenuous exercise and swimming for a few days after the treatment, as these activities can increase the risk of infection or irritation.
