360° Skin Cooling

The MeDioStar® Monolith handpieces have been completely developed to produce a more ergonomic, lighter, and stronger handpiece. More flexible cable allows the handpiece to be manoeuvred more easily without resistance.

Efficient epidermis cooling is achieved through the 360° contact skin cooling system which protects the skin from burns and enables treatment in any direction. Asclepion’s TAPER technology evenly distributes energy over the entire spot to prevent the formation of hot spots.

With maximum reliability thanks to the sapphire tip which provides optimal protection of the fibre bundle. Quickly transition between treatment methods with the newly designed two-handpiece port system.

MeDioStar – Frequently Asked Questions

The MeDioStar is a medical-grade diode laser that delivers precise bursts of light at a certain wavelength to the target area in the skin with maximal absorption. It works by heating up and destroying the targeted cells or tissues while leaving the surrounding healthy tissues intact.

The MeDioStar laser is extremely versatile and can be used for a wide variety of cosmetic and medical treatments, including laser hair removal, skin rejuvenation, acne treatment, and scar reduction.

The length of a MeDioStar laser treatment will depend on the specific treatment being performed and the size of the treatment area. However, most treatments take between 15 minutes to 1 hour to complete.

The number of MeDioStar laser treatments needed to achieve desired results will depend on the specific treatment being performed and the patient’s individual needs and goals. For example, hair removal may require several treatments spaced several weeks apart to achieve full removal, while skin rejuvenation may require only one or two treatments.

Most patients only experience mild side effects from MeDioStar laser treatments, such as redness, swelling, and mild discomfort. These side effects usually resolve within a few hours to a few days. In rare cases, more serious side effects such as blistering or scarring may occur, but these are very rare.

The MeDioStar can be used for a vast range of treatments on most areas of the body, including the face, arms, underarms, abdomen, back, legs and bikini area.

Diode lasers emit a single, focused wavelength of light that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle or the melanin in the skin, generating heat and damaging the follicle to prevent hair growth or targeting pigmented lesions and hyperpigmentation. Diode lasers are more effective for permanent hair reduction & pigmentation removal.

The MeDioStar is able to provide treatment for all skin types (types I – VI) and tones.

There are 8 handpieces available with the MeDioStar.

Firstly, there is the Monolith line of handpieces. The Monolith S is for treatment areas of 1cm2, the Monolith M is for areas of 1.5cm2, the Monolith L is for areas of 3cm2, and the Monolith XL is for treatment areas of 10cm2. All of these handpieces have a pulse duration of between 3-400 ms, can operate at a wavelength of either 810 nm or 940 nm, and can be used for hair removal, acne treatment and skin rejuvenation.

There are also the PowerLine handpieces, which both target a treatment area of 3cm2. The PowerLine L operates at a maximum power of 5000 W, a wavelength of either 810 nm or 940 nm, and can be used for hair removal, acne treatment and skin rejuvenation. The PowerLine YAG operates at a maximum power of 4000 W, a wavelength of 1060 nm, and can be used for hair removal.

The final handpieces are the ALX and VAS. The ALX has a spot size of 1.4cm2, a maximum power of 560 W, a wavelength of either 760 nm or 940 nm and is used for hair removal. The VAC has a spot size of 0.12cm2, a maximum power of 250 W, and a wavelength of 940 nm.
