Powerful Laser
Tattoo Removal Machines

We have manufactured professional laser systems in Germany for over 48 years, and our tattoo removal platforms showcase that level of engineering. Both the PicoStar and NanoStar are built around Nd:YAG laser technology with dual wavelengths (1064nm and 532nm), plus an optional 694nm ruby wavelength available on select NanoStar configurations. This allows your clinic to treat black, red, blue, green, and multi-coloured tattoos with a single device.

Laser tattoo removal remains the only clinically proven non-surgical method for permanent ink removal, and our systems are designed to maximise pigment clearance per session while reducing client discomfort and downtime.

How Do Tattoo
Removal Lasers Work?

Laser tattoo removal directs concentrated laser energy into the tattoo pigment beneath the skin. The ink particles absorb this energy and break into tiny fragments, which the body’s lymphatic system gradually flushes away.

The difference between our two platforms is pulse duration. The NanoStar uses Q-switched nanosecond pulses that heat ink particles until they fracture. The PicoStar fires shorter picosecond pulses that cause shockwaves, breaking pigment into finer particles without significant heat buildup.

Picosecond systems like PicoStar can improve clearance efficiency and may reduce sessions for complex tattoos. Q-switched systems like NanoStar remain highly effective and versatile, using 1064 nm for dark inks and 532 nm for reds, with the added benefit of 694 nm ruby for blue and green pigments.

Tattoo Removal Laser Wavelengths Explained

Different ink colours absorb different wavelengths of light; therefore, no single wavelength can treat every tattoo effectively.

1064nm (Nd:YAG) — The workhorse wavelength. Deepest dermal penetration, most effective on black and dark blue inks, and the safest option for darker skin types (Fitzpatrick IV–VI). Available on both PicoStar and NanoStar.

532nm (KTP) — Targets reds, oranges, and yellows. Shallower penetration with higher melanin absorption. Take extra caution with darker skin tones. Brown inks vary in composition; some contain iron oxides that can paradoxically darken, so a test patch is recommended first. Available on both platforms.

694nm (Ruby) — The preferred wavelength for greens, blues, and turquoise. Available on select NanoStar configurations.

A dual-wavelength system (1064 + 532 nm) covers most cases. For clinics regularly treating colourful professional work, the tri-wavelength NanoStar ensures you can address stubborn greens and blues without referring elsewhere.

Introducing Laser Tattoo
Removal To Your Clinic

In the rapidly evolving aesthetics industry, it is important to remain competitive and adapt to client demand. Laser tattoo removal provides clinics with a highly sought-after treatment delivered by our state-of-the-art multi-treatment laser platforms.

Our Q-switched and picosecond lasers provide faster, safer, and more effective treatments than ever before. These advancements mean fewer sessions for your clients and better outcomes, which leads to greater satisfaction, repeat business, and word-of-mouth referrals.

The Business Case for
Laser Tattoo Removal

More than 20% of UK adults already have tattoos, and this figure is on the rise. Laser tattoo removal is the preferred method of permanent removal due to its non-invasiveness and minimal downtime. It therefore commands a premium price compared to consumable costs.

Sessions normally cost between £50 and £300, and most tattoos require 6 to 12 treatments, so the lifetime value of a single client can reach and exceed £3,000. Per-session consumable costs are minimal, so margins are consistently strong.

Because the PicoStar and NanoStar are multi-treatment systems, your investment goes far beyond tattoo removal. The same device handles pigmentation correction, skin rejuvenation, vascular lesions, and more. Every additional treatment you offer improves your return on a single piece of equipment.

We also support your growth through the Asclepion WebClub, offering marketing assets, clinical imagery, and business development resources to help promote your new services.

Laser Tattoo Removal – Frequently Asked Questions

Laser tattoo removal is a medical procedure that uses concentrated laser light to break down the ink particles in a tattoo. The laser emits pulses of light, such as the PicoStar with its 300 picosecond pulses of light that are absorbed by the ink, causing it to shatter into smaller particles. The body’s immune system then progressively clears these tiny particles.

As laser tattoo removal is a non-invasive procedure with a very low risk of scarring, it is considered to be the most effective and safe method of removing tattoos that are no longer wanted.

Laser tattoo removal works by directing focused pulses of laser light onto the tattooed area. The laser targets the ink particles within the skin, causing them to heat up and break apart into smaller fragments. Different wavelengths of laser light are used to target specific colours of ink, making the process effective for a wide range of tattoo colours.

Once the ink particles are fragmented, the body’s immune system gradually removes them over time. Multiple sessions are usually required to achieve complete removal, with factors such as tattoo size, ink colour, and skin type influencing the number of treatments needed.

Most professional tattoos require between 6 and 12 sessions for full removal, spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart to allow the lymphatic system to clear fragmented ink between treatments.

The exact number depends on several factors: ink density and depth, the range of colours used, tattoo age, body location (areas with stronger blood flow tend to clear faster), and the client’s skin type.

Amateur tattoos and older, faded tattoos often require fewer sessions. Picosecond lasers like the PicoStar can minimise overall session counts compared to nanosecond systems, particularly on stubborn or previously treated ink.

Laser tattoo removal is highly precise, targeting only the ink particles in the tattoo while minimising damage to the surrounding skin. Advanced laser technology, such as the Nd:YAG dual wavelength on the NanoStar, allows for the adjustment of wavelength and intensity, ensuring effective treatment for various ink colours and skin types.

There is a range of highly effective tattoo removal lasers on the market, with the NanoStar and PicoStar standing as industry-leaders in removing pigmentation.

The NanoStar is a Q-switch laser which can eradicate unwanted tattoos without causing any harm to the surrounding tissue. It is incredibly effective at removing tattoos due to its precision and minimal impact on the surrounding skin.

The PicoStar represents the latest in advanced picosecond laser technology, producing ultra-short pulses of laser energy to enable high-energy delivery with maximum accuracy for tattoo removal.

Laser devices are highly versatile – they allow a single device to treat a variety of conditions with just a few changes to the settings or the treatment head. Although incredibly complex, our devices can be controlled and altered easily through the intuitive user interface, allowing you to swap between treatments quickly and easily.
With a growing number of adults in the UK getting tattoos, the market for tattoo removal is set to follow this trend. Tattoo removal is a great service to offer alongside other treatments and attracts both male and female clientele.
Clients often experience a sensation that is similar to a rubber band snapping against the skin during laser tattoo removal. Our advanced laser tattoo removal machines are designed to provide effective treatment with minimal discomfort.

Treatment with our state-of-the-art tattoo laser machines comes with minimal risk of scarring when operated correctly. Our lasers are designed to target only the tattoo ink while preserving the surrounding healthy skin.

Ensuring clients adhere to proper aftercare, such as keeping the area clean and protected from direct sunlight, further minimises the risk of scarring and promotes optimal healing.

Some clients may experience mild side effects such as redness, swelling, blistering, or temporary changes in skin pigmentation. These effects are usually short-term and subside with appropriate aftercare.

Clinics using Asclepion devices benefit from enhanced safety features designed to minimise risks and deliver consistent, high-quality results.

Our tattoo laser machines are designed to treat a wide range of tattoo colours. Black ink is typically the easiest to remove, as it absorbs laser energy more efficiently.

However, other colours such as red, blue, and green can also be effectively targeted. Some colours may require additional sessions to achieve complete removal.
